Workshop Description:  Enjoy painting the coast simply and beautifully in watercolor. In this, Robert’s annual coastal painting workshop, you will learn how to easily create coastal landscapes, ocean scenes with waves, cliffs, rocks, beaches, bathers, distant islands, seagulls, and other coastal features.  You will paint five paintings at free coastal sites between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica during this weekend.

You will watch Robert demonstrate at each site how to:

•    have fun painting coastal landscapes outdoors

•    paint breaking waves

•    create strong colorful compositions

•    create shortcuts for waves and ocean movement

•    paint distant ocean

•    master your whites for crashing waves, and ocean splash

•    ensure that your paintings will succeed every time

•    create entrances and pathways in your paintings

•    paint rocks and beaches

•    put people in your paintings

•    paint in a horizontal horizon

•    and much, much more

We will meet at Nick’s Seafood Restaurant at Rockaway Beach in Pacifica on Friday, August 20 at 12 PM if you would like a no-host lunch, or 1 PM if not.  Since we will be painting outdoors, be sure to bring a hat, a jacket, some kind of stool or portable chair, or something to sit on.  The coastal temperatures can vary a lot.  Be prepared for 3 days of fun painting outdoors at different coastal sites from Half Moon Bay to Pacifica.
